It is sometimes referred to as a form of "psychic sleep" and can allow a deep sense of relaxation, healing and reconnection to a deeper self with intention (sankalpa). We love doing the practice before lunch or dinner, or before bed to help induce the parasympathetic- resting and digesting parts of our nervous system that gives us a sense of calm and clarity.
